English: Being a someone from the Renaissance times. I enjoyed being an artist and learning about my person.
History: Learning about the Renaissance and what life was like back then. I also enjoyed learning about the paintings.
Math: I enjoyed the freedom we were given and how we got to choose the game we wanted to replicate.
Chemistry: I enjoyed learning about molecules and doing the dilations. I also got to get better at using Adobe Illustrator.
On a scale of 1 - 10, this project was a (1= not at all challenging, 10 = very challenging) 4. I felt like this project wasn't to hard since it was pretty straight forward on what we had to do and what we needed to accomplish. The only hard part was trying to find a costume that didn't look to silly, but at the same time, it also represented my character in his self portrait. I feel like the project would be more challenging if we had to a writing piece of some sort other than our one we did for exhibition. Perhaps one that we turn in to the teacher about the Renaissance and talking about the time period our character we chose lives in. Another thing that would have made this project more challenging would have been presentations on the Renaissance and about the Renaissance. We did something close to the idea about the presentations last year and it personally helped me learn m,ore about the Renaissance.
The aspect of this project that was the most challenging was probably trying to find a costume for me along with the dilations and making it on Adobe Illustrator. This is because I didn’t have anything that my person wore which was all black and sort of like a dress. And since I am a male I did not happen to have a wavy black dress at my disposal. I eventually found something that I could wear that would work for my costume. The other part that was challenging was the dilations and making the molecule on Adobe Illustrator and scaling it. It took me a couple tries to get it right since I did it on a 8 x 11 grid when it was actually supposed to be put and scaled on a 11x13 grid. So I had to restart and get it approved by Dr. Drew and traced again. I don’t feel like anything could help me with the costume problem since that was on me, but I feel like a little more instruction on the dilation diagrams would have been very helpful.
I received feedback on my written piece from many classmates such as, Dylan Lewis, Noah Godina, Sam Gressitt, Diego Diaz, Angeline Santa Romana, Sydney Lorton, Wyatt Fluck, Karley Saxon, Micah Hacker, Matthew Mau, and many more. I also received feedback and got ideas from my mom on how to make my rough draft. The feedback was helpful but pretty repetitive which is also a good thing since I would know what I need to change in order for my final product to be the best it possibly could be.
I am pretty proud of my written piece since it was the first time I have ever stained a paper and it turned out really good. It also had a lot of content on the sculpture I was writing about and how it came to be. I am also pretty happy with how exhibition turned out. This is because we seemed to have the most interesting and interactive exhibition throughout the whole school. Also because I thought I couldn’t make all the shifts in time, but the opposite happened. Also because we got to show off all our work we did and talk to the parents as they came in.
I think I was since I used language from the Renaissance, and also described what my section was which was the Artists Alleyway. I also talked about the Renaissance and answered why it was important and gave a little background on my character which was Bartolommeo Bandinelli. This was overall a good project and I don’t know what I would change about it.
I feel confident that I understand the lasting impact of the Renaissance since I explained it to many people at the exhibition. And I will do it here. The Renaissance changed the world in just about every way one could think of. It had a kind of snowball effect: each new intellectual advance paved the way for further advancements. Italy in the 14th century was fertile ground for a cultural revolution.
