Banned Book Reflection Name: Jeremy Ong
How challenging was this project for you? Be specific.
This project was not as challenging as I thought it was going to be since. To be honest, i found this project quite easy since I did something similar to this last year. I thought it was going to be quite hard since it was reading and I am not much of a reader, but the book i chose turned out to be something I was interested in and it had a huge plot twist which made it hard to put down.
What was the easiest part of this project?
The easiest part of this project for me was probably writing the dialectical journals since i have been doing something similar to that every year i have attended High Tech. I also found the topics of the journal pretty easy to write about since there was a lot going on in my book.
How comfortable did you feel while making your film?
I felt pretty comfortable while making my film since I knew what my book was about and I knew the questions and the rubric I had to follow in order to get an A.
Did you receive critique and feedback from anyone (teacher, parent, classmate, etc)? If so, who? Was the feedback helpful? (This could be for any part of the project, journal, or video)
I did receive feedback from a few of my peers such as, Noah, Sydney, and Diego D. and Angeline. I thought their feedback was helpful since I found the things they gave me feedback on and improved my video and my journals according to their feedback and to what I think would make both of those items better.
Did you provide kind, specific, and helpful feedback in the journal workshops? Were these sessions helpful and/or fun?
I did provide good feedback during the journal workshops since my peers would ask me what I put down for my journal and I would give them an example, or i would critique their journals and try to find grammar errors, and somethings I feel like they could do better.
Did you actually read the book you chose?
I did actually read the book I chose since it was an easy read for me and I enjoyed it.
What grade do you think you deserve? Why?
For this banned book project, I think I deserve an A since I did all to what was required, I completed all 5 journals at least a day before it was actually due on Edmodo, i gave kind, specific, and helpful feedback, and I also made the video 2:40 which is long enough for the video to meet all requirements, I was also on task for a good majority of the work time we were given on the banned book.
If you could change something about this project, what would it be?
If I could change something about this project, it would be to do something other than journal write ups since i do that every year. If I were the teacher, I would have the students do a video every week, then at the end, I would have the students make a video on the whole book, summarizing it.
