This project had to deal with the idea of perfection. So in Maker space we took the measurements of every 8th grader in our team, and found the average of them. We then used a lazor cutter This is a picture a the average size of a normal eighth grader, except in wood with a bunch of wood carves in them. These wood carvings represent us, and our hobbies. Mine is a guy running, and another one playing with a kendama.
This is a picture of a project we did where we amputated toys, and glued them together. Mine consisted of a Shrek, a dinosaur, and an stuffed animal elephant. This project was inspired from the Toy Story character Syd. He made interesting hybrids of toys.
This is a painting I did of John Wayne. We were doing a project on courage, and we had to find someone with a courageous quote that we liked. I was scrolling through the page, reading them one by one. Then I found John Wayne's quote, and it totally matches up with his personality as a cowboy. "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyways" - John Wayne.
The drawing here is a mixture of Pikachu from Pokemon, and a minion from Despicable me. We first had to find two characters that we wanted to draw a hybrid of two different characters. Then we traced part of each character, and figured out where to put each part, like the eyes, ears, mouth, feet, etc. I ended up putting a minion in a body of a pikachu.
This was sort of a one day assignment, where we had to come up with designs for the Maker space room. Here is what I think would be a nice layout for the room.
