This project started out with us doing the simple and easy quadratic sheets that taught us the basics. Then we slowly started to advance and do more complicated things like converting vertex form to standard from and vise versa. We then took a final test to prove our knowledge. The purpose of the quadratics activity was for it us to prove our understanding of quadratics by choosing to find a parabola of something in real life. For me, I chose, “How can a 6 foot man make a 3 point shot every time?” With this I had to find the height of the basketball hoop, as well as the distance from the basket and the 3 point line. The next step for me was the try and find the vertex of my parabola; the vertex is the lowest or highest point of a parabola, and for my case I had to find the highest point of my parabola since mine was a concave down.
Somethings that I thought went well with this project was that it was really simple and straightforward. I enjoyed the amount of freedom everyone had and how we could do whatever we wanted. This really made the project intresting and I personally think I do better work if I am interested in something. However moving forward I do feel like something to change about this project would be maybe adding more content to the project. I feel like there isn’t much to this project and it feels more like an assignment than project. Other than that it was a great way to end the school year.
